What if I Want to Keep My PCP but also Try the DPC?
You can continue seeing your current Primary Care Provider (PCP) while also using the Direct Primary Care (DPC) practice. Many members choose to do this during a transition period, especially if they have a long-standing relationship with their PCP.
Here’s how it typically works:
- You can use the DPC for most of your primary care needs — including preventive visits, same-day or next-day appointments, and common labs or prescriptions at no cost.
- You can still see your existing PCP as an in-network provider if they’re part of the plan’s network, but those visits will process like any other network claim (subject to deductible and cost-sharing).
- The DPC doesn’t replace your network — it adds another option, often with better access and lower costs.
