How Are Preferred Providers Paid?

Preferred Providers can be paid in two different ways, depending on whether they participate in a regional network:

• Through the Network – If the Preferred Provider is already contracted with one of our regional networks (Alliance, Trilogy, Midlands Choice, America’s PPO), payment flows through that network in the same way as other in-network claims.
• Direct Payment – If the Preferred Provider is not part of a network, Self Fund Health pays them directly. This may be handled via an invoice or a cash/virtual card transaction at the time of service.
